What is a Creator Bind?

A creator bind is when a seller links their TikTok Shop to a creator account. This allows creators to promote and sell the seller's products through videos, livestreams, and the Store Page.

Affiliate Creator

Affiliate creators are independent creators who can promote products via the TikTok Shop Product Marketplace. No creator bind is required to post shoppable content.
Eligibility requirements:TikTok creators can apply to become a TikTok Shop creator if they meet all of the following requirements:

• Maintain at least 1,000 followers in the EU
• Be at least 18 years old (this will be verified through Creator Age Confirmation)
• Have posted a video on TikTok in the last 28 days
• Be located in the country that their TikTok account is registered in
  • For example, if you registered your TikTok account in the United Kingdom and are located there, you could obtain Creator E-commerce Permissions to promote E-Commerce content for TikTok Shop UK.
• Comply with the TikTok Community Guidelines
• Use a TikTok account that is not identified as a Government, Politician and Political Party Accounts ("GPPPA") as defined in this article
• Not have previously had Creator E-commerce Permissions that were revoked by TikTok Shop. This includes any of the Creator's previous accounts.

Official Account Creators

Sellers can bind a creator account to their shop to allow them to create livestreams and short videos to promote all products within their shop. This is referred to as an 'Official Creator' or 'Associated Account'.
Requirements:

• Must be invited to an official creator bind by a TikTok Shop
• Must have the same creator account name as the bound TikTok Shop.

Official Account Creator Binds:An official creator bind links a seller to their primary TikTok account (typically a brand account).

• Products are displayed through the Store Page and can be sold via videos, livestreams, or directly on the Store Page.
• Products in Seller Center can be automatically synced to the Store Page.
• Official creators do not have access to the Affiliate Product Marketplace.

Important Notes:

• If an affiliate creator becomes an official creator, they can still withdraw previously earned commissions
• Official shop creators will lose their E-Commerce permissions if their bound shop is deactivated. If the shop is reactivated, creator permissions will automatically be restored.

Marketing Account Creators

Sellers may also choose select up to and bind up to 4 'Marketing Creators' (also known as 'Shop Channel Creators) to their shop. This allows affiliate creators to create livestreams and short videos to promote all products within their shop.
Requirements:

• Be invited to a marketing creator bind by a TikTok Shop
• Have a minimum of 1,000 followers in the EU to access the TikTok Shop Product Marketplace and submit a request for access.
• The name of the creator account does not need to match the TikTok Shop name.

Marketing Account Creator Binds:A marketing creator bind allows sellers to link additional creator accounts to promote products in their shop.

• Up to 4 marketing creators can be bound per shop
• Can promote all shop products via video, livestream, and Store Page
• Can access the Affiliate Product Marketplace if eligible

Important Note:

• Marketing binding invitations may be sent up to 10 times within a 180-day period. Please use discretion and send invitations thoughtfully.
• Marketing creators will lose their E-Commerce permissions if their bound shop is deactivated. Once the shop’s deactivation is revoked, the creator’s permissions will be automatically restored.

General Creator Binding Limits

Sellers under probation:

• Sellers with individual shops (Sole Trader) are limited to bind to only:
  • 1 official account creator bind
• Sellers with business shops (Corporate Seller) are limited to bind to only:
  • 1 official account creator bind
  • 1 marketing creator bind

Sellers who have passed probation (and without severe violations):The creator bind limit for sellers who have passed the probation program and do not have any severe violations, both individual and business, is:

• 1 official creator bind
• 4 marketing creator binds

Unbinding Criteria

• After linking to an official or marketing account, the seller must wait 24 hours before they can unbind.
• The seller can:
  • Unbind from an official account account up to 3 times
  • Send binding invitations up to 10 times within a 180-day period. Please exercise caution when sending binding invitations.
• A seller cannot unbind from a creator who has a low Creator Health Rating, or if the creator has received recent severe violations.

Enforcement Actions for Official Account and Marketing Account Creators

Official Account Creators and Marketing Account Creators will lose their E-Commerce permissions if their bound shop is deactivated. If the shop is reactivated, creator permissions will automatically be restored.
