FAQs

  1. Do I need a TikTok account to register as a seller on TikTok Shop?
No. You can register using a phone number or email address. However, you will need a TikTok account to link to your TikTok Shop in order to post shoppable content or host LIVE sessions.
  1. Why is my phone number or email address shown as already used?
Each seller account must be registered with a unique phone number or email address. If you see this message, the contact detail has already been used for another seller registration. Please use a different phone number or email address.
  1. Why am I not receiving the email verification code?
Check your Spam or Junk folder and confirm that your email address was entered correctly. If the issue persists, wait a few minutes and try again, as it may be due to network delays.
  1. Why am I not receiving the phone verification code?
Currently, only mobile phone numbers are supported for SMS verification. Ensure you entered a valid mobile number (not a landline) and that you have network signal. If the issue continues, retry after a short period.
  1. Do I need to be registered in a national business registry?
If you register as a Sole Trader, Privately-owned business, or Publicly-listed business, your company must be legally registered and active in the official commercial registry of your registration country:
  • Spain – Registro Mercantil
  • Ireland – Companies House Ireland
  • France – Registre National des Entreprises (RNE)
  • Italy – Registro Imprese
  • Germany – Handelsregister
Your business must have an active status at the time of verification. Inactive, dissolved, or suspended companies are not eligible.
    1. My application was rejected. What should I do?
The rejection reason will be sent to your registered email address. Review the feedback carefully, correct the required information or documents, and resubmit your application via the Seller Centre homepage.
    1. Can I change my account type after approval (e.g. from Sole Trader to Business Entity)?
No. Seller type changes are not supported after approval. If you need to register under a different business type, you must submit a new application.
    1. Do I need to complete additional steps after my TikTok Shop registration is approved?
Yes. After approval, you must complete Shop Setup in Seller Center — including confirming your warehouse address, ensuring shipping and payment setup, listing at least one product, and linking an official TikTok account — before you can start selling; for full instructions, refer to the Shop Setup Guide here.
    1. Where will my shop name be displayed? Can I change it later?
Your shop name is publicly visible to customers on TikTok Shop. After onboarding is complete, you may change your shop name once per month. Frequent changes are not recommended, as they may confuse customers and impact brand recognition.
